Where to Relocate a Trapped Skunk

Skunks are animals which are always out in the night. In the evening, they tend to come out of their dens and go for some food hunting or other activities. They do not go 4 miles away from their dens. Humans try their best to keep the skunks out of their house, so the den of the skunk can be seen in lawns or grounds.  There are many ways through which skunks can be removed from the house. One such way is to use the skunk repellents. The spray repellents will not give a productive result and hence their continuous use may result in some other damages as well.  However, relocation is one of the best ways to get rid of the skunks. Always try to catch a skunk either with a towel or a trap, and then releasing it carefully in some other location. This way the property will be saved. There are many trapping techniques which can be used for the skunks' removal. Always go for the technique which is easy for you to use.

Relocating the skunk:
The best technique is to trap the skunk and transfer it to some other location but make sure that you are far away from the skunk. The skunk should be transferred to a wooded region. That region should be far away from you house. Make sure that you cover the trap or cage of the skunk with a towel, so that they are not able to locate the area of your house again. Always relocate the animal safely so that it does not get aggressive, because when the skunks are aggressive, they will produce their spray on the human beings. Their spray is infected and thus it will create a lot of infectious diseases such as rabies for the humans.

Get to know about the breeding time of the skunk
While you are going to catch the skunk, make sure you are aware of its breeding time. The breeding time for the skunk may begin from February or April. So make sure the babies of the skunks are not at all disturbed. You should always ensure that the mother and the babies are not separated. Both of them should be transferred together at the same time or wait for the baby skunk to get a bit independent, and then the mature skunk can be transferred away. Release the skunk in a wooden area, so that the skunk is not affected at all. The skunk should be released carefully from the cage. While releasing it, make sure that you are not seen; otherwise the skunk may attack you and hurt you.
